Published on May 16, 2016 by in Uncategorized

The rally in Kingston was a success. We spent a few hours right in the heart of downtown Kingston promoting our new campaign to amend the Child and Family Services act in respect to mandatory audio and video recordings. We also got some media attention as well and that is always welcome :)

Ottawa Rally for Accountability, May 6th 2016

Published on April 26, 2016 by in Uncategorized

We are holding a public rally for accountability and oversight of Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies in Ottawa Ontario

This rally will start at Parliament Hill from 11:00am to 2:00pm and then we are walking to 1 Sussex Dr and will be there from 2:30pm until 6:00pm

There will be plenty of signs and informational brochures to hand out along with a petition for people to sign in regards to mandatory video recordings of CAS Workers. A copy of this petition can be found here:http://www.quinteaccountability/2016/04/13/new-petition-for-oversight-of-the-cas/

We hope to see as many people there as possible because we need to get the word out and as people in the area know, the CA$ propaganda runs wild here and we need to inform people of the truth so that one day the tables will turn on them and everyone will know about their lies, deceit and unlawful actions.

Also if people are in other areas but would need a ride to get there, we may be able to help with that so please either post on here or pm me and we will see what we can do.

Thanks in advance to all the great people that will hopefully be able to attend this rally.

For more information on this rally, please visit the event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/586811801488356/

Mom who lost custody launches lawsuit against Motherisk lab

Published on January 25, 2016 by in News

By:  Staff Reporter – Toronto Star, Published on Fri Jan 22 2016

A Scarborough woman who claims she lost custody of her only child because of erroneous hair test results from the Hospital for Sick Children’s Motherisk laboratory is suing the hospital and the lab’s former director and manager in what could become a massive class-action lawsuit.

Among other requests, a statement of claim filed in Superior Court this week by lawyers for Yvonne Marchand, 33, seeks a court order certifying the lawsuit as a class action and a declaration that the defendants were negligent in operating and supervising the Motherisk lab.

“For years, I would just cry and tell anybody who would listen that I was a good mom and that I love my little girl so much, but people just think you’re crazy,” Marchand told the Star, reflecting on her life before recent revelations about the lab tests. “Now at least the truth comes out. I wasn’t just making things up.”

Marchand underwent hair testing by Motherisk when the father of her 2-year-old daughter made false allegations of alcohol abuse during a custody dispute and the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto decided to investigate, she alleges in her statement of claim.

She claims the test produced a “false-positive result,” meaning it showed she was abusing alcohol even though she wasn’t. The statement says Marchand then went for an independent test from an accredited lab, which concluded she was negative for alcohol abuse.

But the judge at her court proceeding, about four years ago, refused to admit the independent test because the author of the test wasn’t present, Marchand claims. The lab’s manager was in court, but Marchand, who represented herself, didn’t know how to qualify the manager as an expert in order to testify, according to the statement of claim.

She claims the judge then relied on the Motherisk test result to strip her of custody of her daughter, whom she said she now sees only six hours a week.

None of the allegations in Marchand’s statement of claim has been proven in court.

“I thought with the negative test she would be coming home,” Marchand told the Star, becoming emotional over the phone. “I was just sobbing in court. There’s nothing I could say. He’s the judge.”

Marchand said she was “very, very happy” to see the damning independent review of the Motherisk hair test results released by retired judge Susan Lang last December, which found the lab’s tests “inadequate and unreliable.” It confirmed, Marchand said, what she had believed all along.

The lawsuit comes as a commission begins to review potentially thousands of Ontario child-protection cases that relied on Motherisk hair testing over the past 25 years.

“Although it is difficult for us to comment on any specific situation, we recognize that in some cases, families may have been impacted by the practices of the lab,” Sick Kids CEODr. Michael Apkon told the Star in a statement Thursday.

“We apologize deeply that this may be so and acknowledge responsibility for the hospital’s role. We appreciate that in some cases, we may need to participate in compensating impacted families.”

A hospital spokeswoman said Joey Gareri, who worked as the lab manager at Motherisk and often testified at child protection proceedings, would not be commenting. The lab’s founder and long-time director, Dr. Gideon Koren, retired last year and could not be reached for comment.

Among the allegations in the lawsuit, which could become a $450-million class-action, is that, prior to 2010, Motherisk relied on a testing methodology that was not considered the “gold standard.” That methodology was the focus of a Star investigation that led to the independent review and the commission that is now reviewing old cases.

The statement of claim also alleges the lab lacked standard operating procedures, lacked oversight, failed to routinely wash hair samples before testing, and practised poor record-keeping.

“The disruption and removal of children from parents is unfathomable,” said one of Marchand’s lawyers, Rob Gain, “and has a dramatic effect that no amount of money will be able to make these families whole again.”

Im finally back :)

Published on January 23, 2016 by in News

Hello everyone.

So I know it has been a very long time but I am finally about to start getting back into the swing of things and start assisting the people of Ontario in regards to our failing child protection system and to raise awareness and help promote accountability and oversight over the agencies that have been getting away with far too much for far too long.

So far since my own nightmare has been over, I have very slowly started to get back into advocacy but it has taken a while.

I started just this past September by attending the Opening of the Courts Protest in Toronto. This was the first rally that I have been in attendance in over two years and I was so happy to finally be able to do that again. Now I am planning and organizing a public rally and candlelit vigil in memory of all the families destroyed by CAS on Febuary 15th 2016 in Kingston Ontario. For information on this rally please click this link: https://www.facebook.com/events/1662341897380657/

I have also been slowly producing and making videos public including over 50 private OACAS Staff only webinars that we just recently gained access to that I will be making public over time. here is the link to that as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhbkzIzFuNM&list=PLwnOrEBE6xjAIm2UQEjyDLolppiW_tvN_

I am also just about to start working on this website so that I can finally get it the way I always intended it to be before I was stopped in my tracks a few years ago so stay tuned for lots of updates to come.

I am sorry it has taken so long for me to get back into things but very soon I will be back in full force and better than ever and I have all of you to thank for that :)

Message from Curtis Kingston

Published on May 31, 2015 by in News

Hello World……

So I know that there have been a lot of questions and rumors going around over the past year and a half regarding myself and I would like to set the record straight the best way I can.

So as most of you are aware, starting in early 2012, due to my own families horrific encounter with our local CA$, I jumped right into many groups to assist children and families and in the course of just over a year and a half had became a well respected advocate and was personally responsible for setting up at least a third of the rallies on this issue in the province.

I had also assisted a number of families on a personal level to have them reunited with their loving children. Then in the middle of September 2013, I was arrested and charged for a Facebook post and was later released on bail on September 17th, 2013. Due to the publication ban on my case, I cannot say much about it other than to say that I was railroaded by the police, crown attorney and even my own lawyer in the beginning. I was able to obtain legal counsel later that was better but it was far too late. On the day I was released on September 17th, 2013 the court had placed such insane conditions on me that not only was I unable to continue with the advocate work that I loved but it also rendered me incapable to do almost anything. One of my many conditions was that I was not to have any access to Facebook, Twitter or other social media.

I truly feel as though most of the conditions that were placed on me and most of my issues since had no other purpose than to stop me in my tracks, put fear into me so that when this is all over, I will simply roll over, shut up and be the good little sheep that they want me to be. WELL rest assured that I am not and will never be one of the sheeple but with that being said, I do have my own family and other things to worry about.

So I don’t know what extent or how long it will take before I start advocating and helping again but it is one of my true loves in life so I will be back eventually and with any luck I will be stronger than ever.
To all the amazing people that have stuck by me though everything, I wouldn’t have made it without you. There are also a select few people and I won’t say names but you know who you are, that not only decided to abandon me and turn their backs on me, but then decided to bash me and slander me full well knowing that I couldn’t defend myself at the time. To these people….. after all that I did to help you, from getting one of you out of jail to driving 7 hours in an ice storm to help another and much, much more, you should be ashamed of yourselves for being “friends” when I was helping you but ditching me and then having the nerve to try throwing me under the bus as soon as I needed help. Thanks for that as it just assisted me in figuring out just how fate and downright childish you really are. Now back to the people that stuck by me……

I really am forever indebted to the friends and family that have always been there and supported me through everything, people like Attila Vinczer who was the one that originally helped my family to get my siblings home back in 2012 and inspired me to get into advocating and then just a few weeks ago drove 4 hours to Belleville to support me at my sentencing.

Or the individuals who don’t wish to be named but took me into their homes for over a year and a half while I was fighting in court.Or my amazing family who has stuck by me through thick and thin. To my parents, Jacquelyn Kingston and Jeffrey Kingston, my little brother Dylan Kingston, my grandmother Bonnie Sutherland, my uncles Gary Walker and Stevie Thayer and last but not least the woman that I truly hope to marry someday Marika Scheulderman. I Love You All more than you can even imagine and with all my heart.

That is it for now but over the next few months things will be difficult for me still on Facebook so please be patient. If anyone has any questions, please ask away via private message and it will be responded to as soon as possible. Thanks Everyone and keep up the good fight  :)
